About the Role Our client, a cutting-edge cybersecurity consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Penetration Tester to join their elite Red Team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere in the United States. You will be responsible for simulating sophisticated cyber attacks against client environments to identify vulnerabilities and test the effectiveness of their defenses. This role requires a deep understanding of offensive security techniques, exploit development, and adversary emulation. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a passion for breaking systems ethically and providing actionable recommendations for improvement. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive penetration tests, including network, web application, and social engineering assessments. Perform red team operations, emulating advanced persistent threats (APTs). Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in complex IT environments. Develop and utilize custom tools and scripts for offensive security operations. Document findings clearly and concisely, providing detailed technical explanations and remediation recommendations. Present findings and recommendations to clients in a professional manner. Stay current with the latest attack techniques, tools, and threat intelligence. Contribute to the development of new testing methodologies and services. Mentor junior penetration testers and share knowledge within the team. Maintain strict ethical standards and confidentiality. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience. Minimum of 6 years of experience in penetration testing and offensive security. Proven experience conducting red team operations and simulating real-world attack scenarios. Expertise in various penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Nmap, Wireshark). Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and web application security. Experience with exploit development and vulnerability research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote setting. Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, CREST CRT, or CISSP are highly desirable. Experience in scripting languages like Python or PowerShell is essential.
