Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, the Real Estate Specialist 4 will act as the first point of contact, and subject matter expert for the real estate needs of Penn State Campuses or University Business Units within a defined territory. This critical role on the University Real Estate Services team is responsible for managing the contract and lease negotiation process for its assigned Campuses and Units, including tracking critical dates, completion of transaction documents, leading due diligence collection efforts, and providing guidance to its customers on industry best practices to ensure the University's financial resources are utilized efficiently and wisely. Typical transactional activity can range from space or land leases to acquisitions and dispositions, easements and other right of way activities, but can consist of anything that impacts the University's real property interests. In addition, the successful candidate will assist the department with developing, implementing, and supporting the administrative infrastructure of a complex and widely dispersed real estate footprint, including process and procedure development, improvement and implementation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES TRAVEL TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Business or related Real Estate or Legal field preferred. Previous experience in commercial transactional real estate is preferred. Previous experience in the higher-education industry is helpful.

Licensing ?Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
