Job description: JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Upward Bound Math and Science Director, the Upward Bound Math and Science Program Advisor counsels high school students enrolled in the Upward Bound Math and Science Program to assist them in preparing for postsecondary education. The Advisor develops and implements academic support and enrichment programming, and serves as a resource to motivate potentially first-generation students to apply, enroll, and succeed in higher education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Education and/or experience working in a STEM field or providing STEM education. APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded, end-dated position with the possibility of annual renewal based on available funding and satisfactory performance. Salary will be in the mid $50's. The University offers outstanding benefits including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
