LaCombe CPA LLC is a South Louisiana firm serving small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, and churches. We run a modern stack (Drake Tax, QuickBooks Online, TaxDome) and are building smarter, tech-enabled workflows around it.
The role
We're hiring an experienced senior accountant to take ownership of higher-level client engagements and run with them — with minimal day-to-day oversight. Remote, contract (1099), flexible, project-by-project, with room to grow as the firm scales.
• Pay: $40–$50/hr (DOE)
• Hours: ~10–15 hrs/week, project-based. (Will slowly grow in work)
• Location: US remote — Lafayette / Acadiana area a plus
What you'll own
• Lead small and mid-sized business engagements end to end: monthly close, financial statement prep, and review.
• Perform financial reviews and analysis — clean up books, reconcile accounts, and flag issues for the owner.
• Prepare and review business, nonprofit, and individual tax returns in Drake Tax.
• Own client bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including transaction coding and review workflows.
• Communicate directly with clients and keep engagements moving without hand-holding.
What we're looking for
• 5-7+ years of accounting/tax experience; public accounting strongly preferred.
• Solid senior accountant — CPA or CPA candidate welcome, but no active license required.
• Very technology driven, ability to quickly use our tech stack (Google suite: Google video, Gmail, Drive - TaxDome & QBO etc)
• Hands-on with QuickBooks Online and professional tax software (Drake a plus).
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload remotely.
• Bonus: nonprofit or small-business advisory experience.
• Bonus: Someone that is ready to adopt an Ai driven firm .
