Job Summary
The Senior Analyst, Revenue Management oversees and optimizes billing, collections, and revenue cycle processes for the Specialty LTACH division. This role ensures accurate patient billing and efficient account management while driving operational performance through leadership, strategic planning, and process improvement. The position collaborates cross-functionally to resolve denials, enhance workflows, and implement automation tools to improve efficiency. May assist in the development and training of billing office staff.
Essential Functions
Oversee and manage end-to-end revenue cycle operations, including billing, coding support, claims processing, and collections
Manage daily operations of the billing function, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and revenue cycle best practices
Ensure accurate and timely claim submission and oversee resolution of denials and underpayments
Analyze accounts receivable performance and implement strategies to improve cash collections and reduce outstanding balances
Independently identify and resolve issues related to insurance verification, billing, collections, payer contracts, and payer behavior trends
Develop, implement, and optimize billing processes, workflows, and internal controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
Lead process improvement initiatives, including implementation of automation tools and system enhancements
Prepare and deliver monthly reports with key revenue cycle metrics and performance insights
Oversee hiring, training, and professional development of billing team members
Collaborate with regional and organizational leadership to align revenue cycle operations with strategic goals
Serve as a liaison between revenue cycle, finance, operations, and external vendors
Monitor activities with collection agencies, insurance companies, patients, physicians, and internal departments
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
Participate in meetings and committees as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
Strong knowledge of revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable management
Knowledge of government and commercial payer regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and compliance standards
Understanding of managed care, third-party billing requirements, and fair credit and collection practices
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Experience with healthcare billing systems, patient accounting systems, and database management
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field (Required) And
Master’s Degree (Preferred) Or
Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience in lieu of degree (May be Considered)
