About the Role
As a Senior Business Risk Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our business operations. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating operational, financial, and compliance risks, thereby safeguarding our customers and driving our business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within your day-to-day role to management, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and implement controls to manage operational, financial, and compliance risks, ensuring effective identification and implementation.
- Create and utilize job aids, tools, and processes to facilitate the efficient execution of policies, procedures, and risk & control identification.
- Execute control testing to ensure that controls are appropriately designed and identify control or procedural gaps.
- Implement third-party management risk activities and initiatives to support the business unit, ensuring all third parties undergo appropriate due diligence and monitoring.
- Analyze key risk metrics within the organization, identifying negative trends and supporting business partners in root cause analysis and action planning.
- Act as a key liaison for assigned teams during regulatory exams, internal compliance reviews, and internal audits, managing requests for information and leading action planning activities for any findings.
- Provide insights on trends, make recommendations, and track remediation efforts based on data analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
The Essentials
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial services, Marketing, Compliance, Internal Audit Operations, or Vendor Management areas.
- In lieu of education, 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of compliance and operational risk management practices.
- Experience with risk assessment, control testing, and third-party risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to operate office equipment and software applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
