Remote Position, But Must Be In New York Only Position Summary: Works across multiple application domains to lead infrastructure deployments of home grown, open-source and vendor supported applications. This role leads by example and explores new technologies so as to mentor others and find new methods of innovation. This role works with and understands the business perspective and is able to translate that into concrete, automated Infrastructure as Code technical solutions. Job Responsibilities: • Implements hybrid IT by integrating different cloud services with back-end, traditional data center services. • Migrates legacy applications to public cloud services in a rehosting ("lift and shift") approach or in a revising approach for efficiency, agility and disaster recovery (DR). • Collaborates with developers and owns the "Ops" part of DevOps to ensure that cloud-native workloads are deployed according to IT best practices for security, governance, identity and access management, and monitoring. • Provides expert level design and operational practices for AWS. • Owns critical aspects of technology operations in areas including Production, deployment process automation, monitoring, and security. • Ensures alignment between security architecture frameworks, standards, and overall IT cloud strategy. • Creates and maintains build scripts, templates and other artifacts for the Infrastructure stack. • Supports Continuous Integration (CI) and build servers, and ensures adherence to CI principles. • Supports the migration of applications to the cloud infrastructure and assists in the analysis, tuning, and re-architecture when necessary to ensure adherence to business requirements. • As a technology services professional you will have exposure and/or access to confidential information, including highly regulated and highly sensitive data, as part of your normal duties. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree • A total of 5+ years IT experience with a minimum of 1 year experience with AWS installation, and configuration of Cloud Automation tools • Experience working with Linux/UNIX and Docker containers • Experience working with configuration and deployment tools like SaltStack, Terraform and Jenkins • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres • Demonstrated Experience working with AWS to provide highly-available, secure, and reliable services that take advantage of AWS's catalog of pre-existing solutions where possible • Experience with both ITIL and DevOps practices • Understanding of infrastructure and security requirements, such as HIPAA, PCI, FERPA, etc. • Ability to script and develop integrations as necessary • Knowledge of web services, API and REST • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks • Ability to assess benefit versus risk of implementing technologies • Ability to think creatively, strategically and act tactically • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) • Licenses and Certifications
