About the Community Policy Team
The Community Policy team is at the heart of Airbnb's Trust & Safety efforts. Our mission is to craft and evolve policies that foster a trustworthy and reliable platform for both Hosts and guests. We tackle some of the most complex challenges in the industry, informed by rigorous research and stakeholder collaboration. As a Senior Manager on this team, you will play a critical role in shaping policies and systems that impact millions of people around the world.
The Difference You Will Make
As a Senior Manager, Community Policy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies that address fraud and other Trust & Safety issues across Airbnb's expansive platform. Your work will have a direct impact on the peace of mind of our community members and will require collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own community policies affecting trust and reliability, with a focus on fraud prevention
- Guide policy operationalization efforts in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
- Collaborate with teams across the business, including Product, Operations, Trust, Finance, Public Policy, Legal, and Communications
- Foster and maintain relationships with leadership across internal business verticals
- Use data, research, and insights to evaluate and revise policies as needed
- Solve complex problems with a track record of strong cross-functional collaboration
About You
To succeed in this role, you need a unique blend of experience, skills, and qualities. Here's what we're looking for:
Essential Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of experience in a Policy, Legal, or Trust and Safety role with prior leadership on fraud issues in an international environment
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex information and explain it to others
- A track record of strong leadership and ability to independently manage a portfolio of challenging issues
- Strong cross-functional problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking, research, and analysis with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with business and product teams to understand their strategic objectives and deliver policy solutions that enable business goals
- Adept presentation skills with experience engaging with all levels of leadership, including senior executive audiences and C-Suite
- Principled and rigorous, with a track record of incorporating diverse perspectives to achieve the best outcomes
- Experience developing and implementing policies and measuring their effectiveness
- A team player who thrives in a fast-moving environment and brings a strategic mindset to your work
