About the Role: Senior Netflix Analyst – Global Tax Controversy Expert
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst to join our Global Tax Controversy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in navigating the complex world of tax controversy, working closely with cross-functional colleagues, and driving success in our global tax operations. Job Summary
As a Senior Netflix Analyst – Global Tax Controversy Expert, you will be responsible for leading and supporting various aspects of global tax controversy, including U.S. tax law and procedure, tax disputes, and litigation. You will work closely with our Global Tax Controversy team, providing expertise and guidance on complex tax issues, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive resolution and minimize risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex tax issues, developing technical documentation and providing support on special projects as needed.
- Support the daily operations of U.S. government tax audits, appeals, and litigation, including coordinating responses to information requests and managing documentation.
- Collaborate with tax partners to understand, analyze, and resolve complex tax issues, and provide guidance on tax controversy strategies.
- Assist in the maintenance of tools to track and evaluate audit positions worldwide and global tax risk.
- Ensure timely and accurate progression of information and resolution of tax audits.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and lead research on a broad range of U.S., international, and transfer pricing tax matters to support positions taken on tax returns.
- Provide technical expertise and support on global tax controversy matters, including litigation and appeals.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience with U.S. tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, and litigation.
- Familiarity with IRS procedures, including the Large Business & International (LB&I) and Small Business/Self-Employed (SB/SE) divisions.
- Experience with transfer pricing or international tax controversies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex tax issues and develop creative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- A strong understanding of U.S. and international corporate tax law and procedure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
We would also love to see:
- Experience with tax litigation and appeals.
- Familiarity with tax controversy software and tools.
- Certifications, such as an Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
