A leading Japanese Accounting Firm is seeking a Japanese bilingual Tax Sr. Manager to lead U.S. and cross-border (Japan–U.S.) tax compliance and advisory work.
• Full Remote is considerable for a qualified candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
・Manage U.S. federal and state tax compliance for corporate and individual clients
・Support cross-border tax matters, including Japan–U.S. coordination
・Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by staff
・Serve as a senior day-to-day point of contact for clients
・Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors
・Identify tax planning opportunities and support advisory projects
・Support tax due diligence for M&A transactions, including review of tax exposures, transaction structuring considerations, and related diligence workstreams
・Lead business development initiatives, including identifying new client opportunities, developing relationships, and generating new business for the firm
・Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and managers
・Ensure deadlines, quality standards, and internal controls are met
・Japanese language capability is a plus
Qualifications
■Required Qualifications
・CPA preferred (or currently in progress)
・Fluency in Japanese (read, write, and speak at business level) is required
・10+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting experience preferred)
・Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate and individual taxation
・Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
・Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
■Preferred Qualifications
・Experience with international or cross-border tax matters
・ Demonstrated ability to lead business development efforts and generate new client opportunities preferred
Location: Torrance CA / Fully Remote for a qualified candidate.
Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000/year (commensurate with experience)
