Job Summary
As a Part Time Driver - Vehicle Logistics and Transportation Specialist at Manheim Auction, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles across our auction property and to customer businesses. Key Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Transportation: Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to auction safety rules and regulations.
- Vehicle Movement and Parking: Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing auction driving rules, rules of the road, and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
- Vehicle Lineup and Organization: Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisors or team leaders, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Support: Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed, including inflating tires and jump-starting vehicles using a battery box and air tank. Notify supervisors when a vehicle is inoperative and coordinate with Service or Gas Truck Drivers when vehicles are out of gas.
- Customer and Coworker Support: Provide exceptional customer service to dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, and coworkers, responding to their needs and ensuring a positive experience.
- Safety and Health Procedures: Visibly demonstrate a commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures, modeling behaviors related to safety excellence, and actively participating in support of all safety activities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of our vehicle logistics operations.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required, with a clean driving record.
- Physical Demands: The ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently, sit for prolonged periods, walk long distances, stand, reach, talk, and hear regularly. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
- Lifting and Vision: Ability to lift 1-15 pounds and possess close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Driving Experience: Previous experience driving vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions is beneficial.
- Auction Experience: Prior experience working in an auction environment is an asset.
