• Hours: 40hrs
• Shift: Day shift; 8:00am-4:30pm
• Location: Remote Position
• Travel: Travel may be required.

We are searching for a Coding Educator to perform audit of medical records to ensure the quality and efficiency of Southcoast Hospitals Group inpatient/outpatient coding. Provide education and communication to the coding staff. May provide functional or technical supervision over other employees in the same or closely related classifications where scope of supervisory responsibility is limited to direction, guidance, explanation, etc

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Certified Professional Coding Certification or the equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, education, or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of all aspects of coding is required.
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines, prospective payment systems, CMS rules, and OIG work plans is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive coding experience is required.
• Hospital Coding/ DRG coding expertise required.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
