JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Academic Support Center at Penn State Mont Alto is seeking applicants for a part-time professional learning specialist/academic coach.

The position will be responsible for the delivery of academic support and retention support to specialized student population groups (i.e. First-gen, student athletes, academically at-risk) individualized and personalized programs of academic self-improvement and in classroom workshops. Meet with students regularly as part of their prescribed needs; maintain one-to-one relationships through effectively organized contact management and open communication. Interact with faculty, advisors, and student service programs. This part-time position is funded for 10-15 hours per week (contingent on student demand) available to work the 2023-2024 academic year.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, human development family studies, sociology-related fields. Preferred qualifications: This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:
