Albany State University seeks an accomplished leader with a demonstrated track record of visionary leadership and academic acumen to become the next Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost. The VPAA and Provost will be laser focused on further developing the institution's dual mission, increasing graduate programming, supporting student success initiatives like University College and transformational student programming.

In addition to being a highly collaborative, results-focused, outward facing academic leader, the ideal candidate for this role will be a strong advocate for both faculty and students alike, balancing the needs across campus in an equitable and effective manner. The successful candidate brings a solid record of inventive program development and academic success along with the skill to lead faculty and staff in establishing and achieving common goals. The position requires familiarity in implementing online education programs. The VPAA and Provost will be externally focused and thoroughly engaged with the surrounding community.

The VPAA and Provost directs the academic programs of the institution, and assumes responsibility for academic planning, teaching, research, extensions, and coordination of interdepartmental affairs (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, and Library). Offering executive level leadership, the VPAA and Provost supervises the work of other directors, including planning and reviewing work.

This position reports to the President and leads the Graduate School, the Darton College of Health Professions, the College of Business, Education and Professional Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences, and Library Services.
