Job description: Fremont School District 79 is seeking an English Language Learner Paraprofessional.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Illinois Paraprofessional License
• Fluent in Spanish

POSITION SUMMARY:

The English Language Learner Paraprofessional works with students providing direct instructional support in their native language.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitates and/or monitors small groups of students to present, guide and/or reinforce skills, concepts, and strategies. Employs various instructional and motivational techniques to encourage student learning and achievement.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of work with students and other staff.
• Maintains and updates records of student progress, attendance, test scores and/or personal information as requested.
• Assists in preparing instructional materials for use in class or ?pull-out? small groups.
• Assists in preparing supplies, materials, and equipment for lessons.
• Participates in all meetings and professional development activities as assigned by the building or district administrator.
• Monitors individuals and/or groups of students in a variety of settings to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Supports and implements District policies and procedures, regulations, and administrative directives.
• Performs other related duties as directed by the building or district administrator.
