Seeking a freelance videographer/photographer (students ok)to document a Navy retirement ceremony aboard the historic USS Midway in San Diego. This is a fantastic opportunity to capture a unique event at a world-famous venue and build your portfolio.
Time Commitment:
• Approx. 1.5 - 2 hours on-site on Aug 6, 2026 from 9:45 to 11:30
• Post-production/editing time to deliver the final video.
Deliverables:
1. The Ceremony Movie: A fully edited video of the ceremony. Because of wind/noise on the flight deck, you must have a reliable way to capture clean audio of the speakers (e.g., a lapel mic or portable audio recorder).
2. Digital Photo Gallery: High-resolution digital files of key moments, group shots with guests, and portraits on the ship. (Editing/color grading is preferred, but raw files + basic edits are acceptable).
Requirements:
• Must have your own gear (DSLR/Mirrorless camera capable of video/photo, tripod, and external microphone).
• Reliable transportation to the USS Midway in downtown San Diego.
• Ability to provide a brief portfolio, reel, or sample of past work.
Compensation:
$400 flat rate (inclusive of shoot time and video editing).
