About the Role
We are seeking passionate and experienced teachers to join our team as Fall 2023 Teacher Tutors. As a virtual tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of K-12 students, providing them with the guidance and support they need to succeed in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This is a part-time, online tutoring position that offers flexible hours and a competitive compensation package. Key Responsibilities
- Provide virtual, small-group instruction to K-12 students in English Language Arts and/or Mathematics
- Utilize online platforms, such as Google Classroom and Zoom, to deliver high-quality tutoring sessions
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with our team to identify areas where students require additional support and develop strategies to address these needs
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in virtual tutoring
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience as a US teacher, with a strong background in teaching K-12 English Language Arts and/or Mathematics
- Proven experience in teaching in an online environment, with a working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom
- Dedication to advancing equity in schools and a passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Bonus points will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Remediation, intervention, or small group instruction
- SPED or ELL teaching
- AP course experience (any APs)
What We Offer
In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
- A hourly rate of $36.00 per hour of tutoring (on a prorated basis), plus a 10% bonus for light preparation
