Key Responsibilities
As an IT Resiliency Testing Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the resiliency and availability of our IT infrastructure and applications. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive resiliency testing strategy to ensure the right infrastructure elements are being tested in the most efficient way possible
- Overseeing the development of resiliency and disaster recovery test plans, including objectives, scope, scenarios, test scripts, and success criteria
- Creating and coordinating testing schedules and execution with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Security, Business Continuity, and external vendors
- Leading the facilitation and execution of resiliency and disaster recovery tests, simulating various scenarios to validate failover and recovery procedures
- Documenting test results, observations, and lessons learned from each test, clearly identifying areas of improvement and recommendations for improving the effectiveness of our resiliency posture
- Identifying and proactively addressing any risks associated with test plans, schedules, and execution, and assisting in their mitigation to ensure availability and security of our systems and data during testing
- Analyzing test results and feedback to identify opportunities for enhancing testing plans and documenting actionable remediations that need to be taken to improve resiliency
- Communicating test plans, schedules, progress updates, results, metrics, and findings to stakeholders and senior leadership to foster awareness and confidence in the organization's resiliency and disaster recovery capabilities
- Providing training and guidance to IT staff on testing procedures, roles, and responsibilities, and raising awareness of the importance of resiliency testing to ensure availability across the technology organization
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience in managing and maintaining resiliency strategies, disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution
- 5+ years of experience implementing disaster recovery concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- 3+ years of experience working with IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, network devices, and cloud services (Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud)
- 3+ years of experience with resiliency and disaster recovery tools and technologies, such as high availability, clusters, replication, backups, failover, DNS, etc.
- 2+ years of experience in project management and coordination skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Analytical capability to assess complex IT environments and identify risks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Certifications in disaster recovery planning and related areas (such as CBCP, DRP, etc.)
