About the Role: Substitute Teacher
We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Far Hills, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to work on your own schedule, choosing assignments that fit your availability and preferences. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, ensuring continuity and engagement for students.
- Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Manage classroom behavior, promoting a safe and respectful atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators and teachers, providing feedback and insights on student progress.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development, enhancing your skills and knowledge as an educator.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
- NJ Substitute Credential.
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
- Full COVID-19 vaccination.
- A passion for education and putting students first.
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or educator.
- Specialized training or certifications in areas like Special Education, English as a Second Language, or STEM education.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and age groups.

- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn.
