Position Overview
careerzynith is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Part‑Time Remote Customer Service Specialist to join our Access Center. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providers, and external partners, handling a high volume of inbound calls with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Navigate careerzynith’s electronic health record (EHR) system to retrieve, validate, and document patient demographic, clinical, and financial information with 100 % accuracy.
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls from patients, physicians, clinics, and insurance providers, addressing inquiries such as appointment scheduling, medication refills, insurance eligibility, pre‑certifications, test results, and medical form requests.
- Apply critical thinking and rapid decision‑making to identify the purpose of each call, resolve issues on the spot, or appropriately escalate complex cases to clinical staff.
- Schedule patient visits while respecting complex provider preferences, ensuring insurance verification, and confirming eligibility before appointments.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, safeguarding patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Achieve performance metrics including low abandoned‑call rates, optimal average speed of answer, and efficient average transaction times.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with patients, providers, and internal teams, delivering consistent, high‑quality customer service across all interactions.
- Document all communications in the EHR, including messages to providers, clinical notes, and follow‑up actions.
- Participate in ongoing training and knowledge‑sharing sessions to stay current on insurance basics, MyChart portal usage, and careerzynith’s evolving service protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 2–5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience, preferably in a call‑center or patient access environment.
- Technical Skills: Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute with at least 90 % accuracy on a typing test.
- Location: Must reside within a one‑hour drive of St. Louis, Missouri to meet occasional on‑site training or compliance requirements.
- Availability: Ability to work the designated shift—Monday‑Tuesday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Wednesday‑Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
- Safety Sensitivity: Demonstrated ability to remain alert, focused, and safe while handling high‑volume, time‑critical interactions.
