The Manager, Clinical Vendor and Program Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing clinical programs that support population health and quality performance across various lines of business, while collaborating with clinical and operational teams to ensure effective vendor management and program execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of clinical program managers and/or clinical staff
- Set priorities, allocate resources, and manage team performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee execution and operations of internal and vendor-supported clinical programs
- Ensure alignment with population health and provider performance strategies
- Drive improvements in quality, cost, access, and member outcomes
- Standardize best practices and scale successful interventions
- Clinical Vendor Evaluation & Selection Support
- Partner with clinical and population health leadership, procurement, legal, IT, and contracting to support clinical vendor evaluation and selection
- Contribute to needs assessment, RFP development, and clinical vendor evaluation
- Provide clinical and operational expertise to inform clinical vendor decisions
- Establish KPIs, SLAs, and governance structures for clinical vendors
- Continuously monitor clinical vendor performance, outcomes, and ROI
- Lead clinical vendor performance reviews and corrective action plans
- Ensure clinical vendors are integrated into workflows and delivering measurable value
- Collaborate with provider groups and internal stakeholders, including Population Health Outreach and Engagement, to support program adoption
- Ensure integration of programs into provider workflows
- Support provider engagement aligned with value-based care initiatives
- Partner with analytics teams to track program and vendor performance
- Translate data into actionable insights
- Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership
Skills
- Active clinical license (RN, NP, PA, or relevant discipline) required
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in population health, clinical program management, or health plan operations
- 1–3 years of leadership experience
- Experience with vendor management and health plan data
- Knowledge of HEDIS, Stars, and population health principles
