Key Responsibilities • Conduct virtual counseling sessions with individuals, couples, families, and groups, providing support tailored to their unique needs. • Employ evidence-based therapeutic practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, to enhance patient well-being. • Stay current with the latest research in mental health and cancer care, integrating new findings into practice to optimize treatment approaches. • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions, maintaining the trust between patient and provider. • Collaborate with medical teams and other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive care plan that addresses both mental and physical health needs. • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to sharpen counseling skills and expand knowledge in the field. Patient Population / Client Focus You will be working primarily with cancer patients and their caregivers, who often experience a range of emotional challenges—including anxiety, depression, and fear related to their diagnosis and treatment. Your role is crucial in providing education, supportive counseling, and therapeutic interventions to help patients and their families navigate these emotional hurdles, enhance their coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. Qualifications • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. • Current licensure as either a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). • No history of medical malpractice claims, verified by a third party. • Authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Experience • Experience working with cancer patients or in a healthcare setting is highly desirable. • Familiarity with community resources available for cancer patients and their families. • Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and virtual counseling tools is a plus. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $105,000 annually, based on your caseload and experience.
